Psalms 1, 2, 15, 22-24, 47, 68

Friday

Psalm 1 has always been a reminder to me to make good choices when it comes to friends.

I prayed for my daughters and grandchildren when they were growing up that they would choose wisely the friends they made. It is amazing how we can be swayed by the people we hang around with. Do they entice you to do the wrong things? Or do they encourage you to do the right things? Psalm 1 says “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked.” There are only two choices you can make, follow God or not. The Psalmist here is telling us how wonderful it is to choose the path of righteousness. To learn and follow God’s laws. When things are not going well in your life, look around you and see if maybe you have strayed off the right path. On a different note, don’t you just love reading the 23rd Psalm. I also could talk at length about the comparisons of Psalm 22 with Christ on the cross. If you have never read it from that perspective, read it again. Talk about Jesus fulfilling prophecy.
