Revelation 7

What does it mean that 144,000 were “sealed”?   Read on to find out…
Ha. Ha.   I tricked you.   The truth is, no one knows for sure…having said that, there are a couple of theories that I won’t bother with because like I said “no one knows”.
Here’s what we do know.   God “sets apart” either all or a portion of Israel to be spared.   It might be because they are the ones who believe in Him.  I noticed today that the seal is given to the 144,000 about the same time the large crowd has gathered in heaven.  That’s interesting…it almost sounds like the tribulation period is over, and yet there are still people “reserved for God” on the earth.  Honestly, I don’t know what to make of that just yet.   It’s one of those things that you roll around in your mind, sort of like a puzzle piece that doesn’t fit yet.

Don’t forget to spend some time ruminating on the songs you see recorded.  There are several here, there were several more in Chapter 5.  Actually you will find them salted all throughout the Book.   Remember, this is a book of encouragement, and every one of these songs is encouraging.   These choruses are rich, praise filled statements about God’s power and authority….and they are being sung in heaven.  (for that reason alone we should memorize every one).

A few stray thoughts for today:
1.  God will not allow anything to afflict His people without His permission.   Along with that, nothing bad can happen to me unless God has allowed it to come my way.    Since I can trust God, I can persevere.
2.  Those who persevere will be richly rewarded in heaven
3.  There are topics brought up in Revelation that aren’t fully explained.

In awe,
