Psalms 106 – 107

Tuesday

In Psalm 107 there are two refrains which are repeated throughout. “They cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered (saved) them from their distress” and “let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to humankind.
I think these are two very beneficial lines to learn/memorize. How many times can these lines of help to us in any number of situations in our lives. Just found out your wife cancer? “cry out to the Lord in your trouble and God will deliver you, thank the Lord for his steadfast (faithfulness) for his wonderful works.” Just learned that your buddy was in a car wreck? “Cry out to the Lord…”, Kids are on drugs? “Cry out to the Lord.” “Oh Lord I just lost my job, but I know you will deliver me from my distress, thank you Lord for your faithfulness, your wonderful work for all humankind.”

I love that the psalmist knows the troubles we are going through and his words spoken centuries ago still ring true today. God knows what we are going through, cry out to him… and He will respond to your pleas.
