Psalms 102 – 104

Saturday

I love how the psalms start off with praising. David never seems to tire of telling us to praise God. It is such an important message for us to remember.

We must be careful to never take God for granted. Sometimes I wonder if we get so comfortable with having Jesus with us all the time that we forget to appreciate all that He does, has done and continues to do for us. We can have someone so close to us that we often take them for granted until something happens and then they are no longer around. We are coming up on Mother’s day in a couple of weeks and my mom passed away 16 years ago. I remember right after she passed, there would be times when I would think, oh I need to tell my mom that.” If you have lost someone close, I’m sure you know what I mean. I don’t think I always appreciated my mom and all of her sacrifices, but I do now. I would love to be able to share what is happening in my life. I am reminded today to give praise for having her in my life. That is what David is reminding us about God. Don’t forget every day to give thanks and praise to God. Try to imagine for a moment what our lives would be like without Him there. So with David, I will “Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, bless his holy name.”

Singing God’s blessings and praising Him,
