Leviticus 5 – 7

February 14, 2016 (Sunday)

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone. I hope your day is filled with goodness and love. In our reading today, we read about the “continual” or “perpetual” fire (6:12). A sign that our service to God should never stop.

We should not let it discourage us though (thinking that service to God is exhausting), but rather as a sign of hope, of a consistency that worship to God never ends. Even when you think about turning the lights off in the church after everyone leaves or in your home when you go to bed at night, somewhere in the world the sun is rising and another Church, another Christian is waking up or going into church and turning to God in praise for another day. The worship of God never stops. Even when we are asleep, the God of Israel never sleeps, never slumbers and God’s watchful eye is always on us. (Ps 121). So if God is keeping watch over me all the time than it is little to ask that I remember to praise Him all through my day.

Singing praises to God
